Meet our Founder and CEO - Karen Houghton

A note from Karen.
As the CEO and co-founder of Infinite Giving, we’ve made it our mission to transform how nonprofits manage and grow their finances. With a background in nonprofit leadership, technology, and finance, I’ve seen firsthand the power of innovation to create meaningful change.
Our Mission at Infinite Giving
Infinite Giving is the first investment firm created exclusively for nonprofits to help you easily raise funding, manage your cash reserves, and conservatively invest your funds all in one place.
With thoughtful stewardship, we protect an organization’s greatest resources, time and money, through unparalleled and efficient financial solutions. Our best-in-class people and technology enables us to serve as a seamless, one-stop shop or provide an as-needed bespoke solution.
At our core, we believe in the vital work nonprofits do. By fostering strong relationships, increasing transparency and efficiency, and providing thoughtful stewardship, we empower organizations like yours to thrive.
Closing the Gap in Asset Giving
One of the most significant challenges I saw was that from the 1.9 million 501(c)(3) organizations in the U.S., 90% of these nonprofits don’t have brokerage accounts, which prevents them from accepting valuable stock and crypto donations. That didn’t sit right with me.
So we built a way to change it. Now, nonprofits can open a brokerage account in as little as 20 minutes through Infinite Giving. This has dramatically increased donation sizes:
- Stock gifts now average around $8,000. At Infinite Giving, we’ve seen much larger sizes with the average donations in 2024 exceeding $25,000 in fair market value (FMV) of the stock donation
- Crypto donations can reach up to $10,000. In 2025, the IRS increased the crypto tax exempt donation to $19,000.
These asset gifts have much more impact compared to just $128 for typical online cash donations. However, most nonprofits are still only asking for cash.
Championing Financial Education
Providing tools is just one part of the equation. I’m equally passionate about financial education. That’s why I regularly host webinars and speak on panels about budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term financial planning for nonprofits. My goal is to equip nonprofit leaders with the knowledge and confidence to steward their resources wisely and sustainably.
Through Infinite Giving, I’m proud to be redefining what nonprofit financial success looks like by bringing the best of fintech innovation to a sector that truly deserves it. Together, we’re building a future where nonprofits have the financial stability and tools they need to grow their impact.
We are the future of nonprofit finance, and we’re honored to serve you.
